Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, at Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. She comes from the fourth Roberts family who been a resident of Atlanta. The story began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. Her father was a young man when he became interested in theater. While a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions in and outside of the campus. He joined the air force in 1953 and, while working in Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the Air force. The couple got married in the year 1955. Their first baby son Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter along with his wife were discharged from the Air Force in the year 1957, when they enrolled Walter as a student at Tulane University. Walter worked with Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple moved to Decatur Georgia. In 1964, Walter along with Betty Lou began production on the local Saturday morning children's TV show called Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by themselves. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou established the Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for 6 years. They had two more children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa) and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also also known by the name Julie).
