Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. She took home three golds at her very first contest at a junior Olympic meet in 1972 for communist bloc countries. Between 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors that took place in 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an older senior. In 1976 she became the first person in the world to utilize a reversed double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started doing figure skating with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her career as model skater with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performances.
