Thunberg took decisive measures in August of 2018. She calmly sat outside the Swedish parliament, boycotted class and wore a sign which read "School Strike For Climate". The reason she felt it was important to draw political attention and convince them to take action to stop the global warming. Swedish media filmed Thunbergs striking and spread the word. In the weeks that followed the students from all over participated in Thunberg's #FridaysforFuture protests. Students skipped Friday classes to protest global warming. Climate activists from across the globe coordinated this Global Strike for Climate. It was a massive success and more than 1.6 million participants from 125 countries took part
