Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors in recent history. Her powerful and vulnerable roles have earned her a cult name. Her father was an acclaimed writer, however Linney was raised as a single child by a single mom, a nurse. During the summers, while with her dad, Linney developed a passion for theatre. Linney eventually pursued acting initially in Brown University then at Juilliard School. In just two short years following graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her debut on film and television. Since then, she has appeared in many films, TV plays and stage productions. In her professional career, she has won several awards, among them two Golden Globe Awards. But despite the many awards, her passion for the theatre isn't gone in her, and she continues to perform both in the stage and on screen.
